Marcia Ball

The legendary, Marcia Ball, is one of the most well-known blues pianists and singers alive today, known worldwide for her smoldering blend of swampy R&B, foot-pounding blues and heart-wrenching ballads. Her music is mixed with equal parts simmering soul fervor and two-fisted piano pounding.

As the Boston Herald puts it, “Marcia Ball plays masterful, red hot tracks from the Texas-Louisiana border. Her voice can break your heart with a ballad or break your back with a rocker.”

The Austin Chronicle heralds her as “a class act whose soulful, horn-laden swamp pop and murderous honky-tonk make her a stellar example of musical artistry.”

Marcia has performed everywhere from the White House to NPR’s Prairie Home Companion and was a featured performer in the movie, Piano Blues, directed by Clint Eastwood. The Blues Music Awards honored Ball as the “Piano Player of the Year” in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Her latest album, produced by the late Stephen Bruton, is titled, Peace, Love & Barbeque (“Three of my favorites things,” says Ball).
